I started with some good old trusty Balsa Wood, i know it's not the sturdiest thing to use when it comes to making props but i managed to pick myself up a huge box of off cuts awhile back and figured that i may as well use what i had.
Now i did forget to take pictures of the first half of making it, even though i had all intentions of doing so i got too caught up in the process and remembered that i wanted to blog about and by then it was all constructed, painted and i was starting on the details. (Bummer)
I wanted to go for a sort of flower box jump, but kind of not really. I browsed the internet for some
This is what i came up with, i gave it a more of a swampy look with the dark brown wet looking paint and the fake grass that reminded me of tall reeds. I had to stick each piece of that grass in one by one and let me tell you i wont be doing anything like this ever again, it nearly flew across the room a couple of times after i wanted to pull all of my own hair out.
And this was my end result, after about 5-6 hours of sticking small pieces of fake grass and flowers onto the jump i finally finished.
Thankfully my hard work paid off in the end, pulling Grand Champion Overall English.
I couldn't of been happier with it :)
